As far as highlights are concerned, there are four types that are offered: foil Highlights, hair painting, frosting and chunking. Natural or unnatural colors can be used to do this. Here are the four different types of colors used- temporary, semi- permanent, demi- permanent, and permanent. One of the many benefits of highlights is the appearance of the hair looking fuller. If you have thin or fine hair this could be great for you! Also, if you have some grey hair this would be recommend. On second thought, grey hair can be bad ass! Jonathan (the owner) refuses to do anything with his. We always recommend a consultation for this before moving forward with the service. All of our hair stylists give highlights, cut and color. Consultations can be anywhere from 15-30 minutes long. This is free time that we give you so that we can be sure to give you the best service possible!

The Parlor Salon is owned by Selby and Jonathan Jimmerson. Together, they have three children- Jadon, Jojo, and Aria. Jonathan and Selby lived down in the Bay Area for around nine years before moving up to Sacramento, County. Selby worked at a salon in Marin County called Siren Salon and found a great deal of success there. Just like many in the bay area, they desired to move up to Sacramento County to raise their family. Shortly after, Jonathan started a music school called JJ Music Lessons. This music school offers a variety of services such as Kids Worship/ rock Bands, group lessons, and private lessons. They teach guitar, bass, piano/ keyboard, ukulele, mandolin, drums, steel guitar, singing/ voice, and music theory. Jonathan also plays for a variety of artists such a Bobby Zoppi, Michael Beck, and Toree MecGee to mention of a few. After living in Folsom a while, he decided to start a salon with Selby and they named it The Parlor Salon!
The Parlor Salon is located near Sutter Street and in so in many ways, it is a Sutter Street Salon. The aesthetic of the salon fits right in with the vibe of Sutter Street. There are a lot of great things to do near the salon! Bravo Coffee is not too far from the Parlor so grab yourself a cup of Joe before coming to get your hair done. Or maybe you would like to look amazing before a night out on the town? Come to the Parlor and then go to any number of night clubs on the weekend. To mention a few there are- The Powerhouse Pub, Gaslight, Out of Bounds, Folsom Hotel, and many more. We are excited to be bringing a higher standard of beauty to the Folsom and Sacramento area!
The Parlor Salon is an exclusive chair and suit rental salon! This means that all of our stylists rent the spaces that we have on a monthly basis. Why is this important or special? Each of our stylists has a clientele and has already proven that they can be successful in business. You can be assured that when a stylist works on your hair or skin that you are getting the best results around! Each of our stylists has a mentality of a small business owner and therefore you are getting the attention and care that you would get with any business owner that is successful! You can be assured that no interns or new stylists fresh out of beauty school will be working on your hair. Our stylists are motivated to grow their business and progress in their field!
